Litchfield Garden Club Establishes Centennial Endowment Fund
The Litchfield Garden Club established the The Litchfield Garden Club Centennial Fund
in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Club’s 1913 founding. This endowed charitable fund, established with The Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut, will support projects and programs in the greater Litchfield area in the fields of gardening, horticulture, civic beautification, environmental awareness, and historic preservation.
“The Centennial Fund will enable Litchfield Garden Club members and other donors to
accomplish projects of significant benefit to the community,” said Drew Harlow,
Litchfield Garden Club president.
“The Foundation is honored to partner with an organization whose members exhibit an
immense passion and dedication toward the beautification and preservation of the greater
Litchfield area,” said Guy Rovezzi, Community Foundation president. “The Garden Club
is an asset to our community, and I am confident that we will continue to enjoy their
achievements well into the next millennium.”
The Fund was officially established at the office of The Community Foundation of
Northwest CT. The following Litchfield Garden Club members were in attendance:
Drew Harlow, President; Sara Gault, Vice President; Committee Members: Jeannette
Ching, Frances Devlin, Jane Hinkel, Susan Kennedy, Susan Magary, Seton O’Reilly, and
Martha Phillips. Representing The Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut was
Foundation Board Chairman, William Harding; and Foundation President, Guy Rovezzi.
