Nonprofits Raise Covid-19 Funds Through Northwest Corner Gives
From June 15th - July 31st, more than 50 nonprofits are participating in Northwest Corner Gives, a crowdfunding giving platform, created by the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation to help local nonprofits raise matching funds for Covid-19 related expenses.
More than 50 local nonprofits created campaigns seeking to raise money for Covid-19 related expenses.
“Thanks to Northwest Corner Gives, we now have a safe place for people to be during the pandemic and beyond,” said Erica Joncyk, Executive Director of David M. Hunt Library.
“Northwest Corner Gives is a tremendous help as we cope with Covid-19,” said Judith McElhone, Founder and Executive Director of Five Points Center for the Visual Arts.
"Northwest Corner Gives has allowed Music Mountain to stay in touch with the community, virtually, continuing to serve its mission in a very meaningful way.
“The Northwest Corner Gives website is terrific, showing progress in real time and listing all supporters makes the process transparent and very much a grassroots effort," said Oskar Espina-Ruiz Music Mountain Artistic and Executive Director.
“Northwest Corner Gives has allowed Susan B. Anthony Project to continue to project the message that we are here for victims of domestic and sexual violence now, during these challenging times of COVID-19, and that we will remain here for their needs and in large part and with thanks, to the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation and the family funds that have supported this platform of giving," said Jeanne Fusco, Executive Director of Susan B. Anthony Project.
As you give to nonprofits through Northwest Corner Gives, the Community Foundation is matching gifts dollar-for-dollar from June 15th-July 31st up to each participating nonprofit’s campaign goal. Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation has committed resources to fund up to 75% of all nonprofit campaigns.
“Northwest Corner Gives is a platform that helps to unify our communities around a common purpose,” said Guy Rovezzi, Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation president.
“www.northwestcornergives.org enables nonprofits to build awareness around their specific Covid-19 related needs, while providing donors and community members with a deeper appreciation for the challenges associated with the delivery of vital programs and services during a pandemic.”
